WhatsApp Integration Menu Now Being Tested in Windows 11 KB5032283
Microsoft is expanding their integration across platforms, this time working with Meta for further integration through WhatsApp. In the Windows 11 Insider Beta version with Build KB5032283, there is now a Share Menu connected to WhatsApp.
If you're using Windows 11 KB5032283, chances are you'll get further integration to connect with WhatsApp. Further development allows you to easily share files and connect with WhatsApp, similar to how it's done on smartphones.
For example, if you select multiple photos in Photos or files in File Explorer, you can easily choose Share and automatically access various features, including WhatsApp. Previously, this option was only available for a few limited platforms like Outlook, but now there are more options available.
“In Windows 11 Build 22635.2841 or newer, you will notice a new share window menu that supports WhatsApp. For example, when you select an image in the Photos app or File Explorer and select Share, you can choose WhatsApp. The share menu was previously limited to select apps like Outlook, but it’s finally getting more options.
When the Windows share menu detects that you don’t have WhatsApp installed, it will attempt to download it from the Microsoft Store. Microsoft says the process is automated and should be seamless, with plans to expand the integration to more apps or make the OS controls easily accessible to the developers.”
In addition to providing support for Share with more options, Microsoft also provides better support for Nearby Share to connect with Share. So there's a possibility that some other options will be added, one of which is Nearby Share.
Through this update, Microsoft also added that they provide automatic access when using Nearby Share, where when you activate it, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi will automatically be enabled in the Beta Channel and may also be provided in other Insiders.
What do you think? This weekly update also comes with bug fixes and improvements to address issues that have been causing disruptions to the Task Manager.
